Bold and Beautiful

My bedroom ceiling is grayish blue and all my walls throughout the house is a taupe color. The fixtures as well as my ceiling fan are oil rubbed bronze. I need to break free of the "brown". The master bathroom walls are the same as the bedroom ceiling with black granite counters. I am looking for a relaxing color for drapes and bedding, but yet I want to make a bold statement while having a beautiful and elegant bedroom. Do I accomplish this through a new color with accessories? If so, any suggestions on color? Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!

Giorgina's Answer: In this case, I would opt for painting the bedroom walls and ceiling to give it a relaxing and bold effect. Consider painting the ceiling an off white color to give the appearance of the space being larger. A soothing yet romantic color is blue/purple or violet. Violet is associated with a peaceful environment while a blue/purple color will give the room a restful feel. Add pillows that feature dark purple colors or ones in a pink color that feature flowers. For the drapes and bedding, consider cream colors. This will make a delicate yet elegant statement.
