Color for Teenager Bedroom?

I'm a 14 year old girl and I want to paint my new room. What colors should I use for my bedroom? I want it to look modern and express my personality.

Giorgina's Answer: Color is such a personal choice. The color that you decide on should speak to you. It should make you feel a certain emotion. Such as, how do you feel when you see a pink color versus a red color? Does one make you feel happier than the other? If you are leaning towards bright colors, but are unsure, keep in mind that you can make bright colors, such as red, orange, and green work within a Modern style.

You may wish to consider visiting your local paint store and looking at the many samples they have available. Once you settle on a few colors, consider picking up actual paint samples and then painting a patch on the wall in your room. Look at the paint samples on the wall during the day, afternoon, and evening to see how the color looks throughout the different hours of the day. Also, look at the paint samples on the wall with the curtains open and closed to see if you still like the way the color looks.
