Covering a Wall with Damage for a Special Event?

by Tammy K
(Louisburg, NC)

I am directing a wedding and the venue has a wall that is in poor looking shape. There are old nail holes and marks. The wall is not too large and we want to cover up these flaws...maybe with fabric…maybe with stuff...not sure…need some good advice. The wedding colors are Salmon and a limey sort of green. She is using some shells but does not want to venture into tacky with that theme. Any ideas?

Giorgina's Answer: You may wish to consider using a backdrop consisting of fabric in the theme colors (for example, a salmon color) to cover this wall. In addition to the backdrop, you can include tulle (in, for instance, a lime green color) by draping it over the top of the fabric. This will give it a soft and romantic effect. For extra dazzle, place Christmas lights within the tulle.
