Decorating Kids Bedrooms

by Giorgina Devereaux

Decorating kids bedrooms is a great way to give your children a voice in making their own decorating decisions.

It also allows you to do a fun project together and your child will take great pride in knowing that they participated in the decorating process.

Choose a Theme

Since kids tend to go from one fad to the next, try to keep this in mind before settling on a decorative theme.  Some themes include trucks, trains, super heroes, race cars, a princess, a fairy, and animals.

Consider keeping the theme broad in case your kid is loses interest in that specific character.  For instance, if you want to use specific character themed items, display items that can easily be changed like a lamp or a poster.

Add Color with Paint

One of the best ways to transform when decorating kids bedrooms is through the use of paint.

Color has the power to change the mood of the whole room.

You can also accent the bedroom walls by applying borders and wallies, stenciling a design on the wall, or painting a wall mural.
