Decorative Blinds
by Giorgina Devereaux
Decorative blinds offer flexibility in terms of
light control for any room in the home.
They are available in a stylish selection to meet the aesthetic needs of your
room, and you can choose from a wide range of blinds, such as wood blinds,
Durawood blinds, Trilogy blinds, or metal blinds.
You can raise or lower the blinds for
full privacy, a full view, or swivel the slats to fine tune the amount of light
coming into your windows.
Not only that, but blinds also help save on energy costs by deflecting summer heat
and keeping in the warmth during the winter months while at the same time
insulating outside noise.
Wood Blinds: Wood blinds are
available in diverse collections.
You can custom design your wood blinds in
your choice of rich stains, paints, weathered finishes, and are available in
five shades of white.
They are custom crafted from premium
hardwood and are offered in a variety of decorative and functional upgrades.
Some upgrades include the following:
-
Routeless Ladders – This slat design works without route holes allowing less
light to show through when the blinds are closed.
-
Rounded
Slats – This gives your wood blinds the finished appearance of elegant
furniture.
-
Two-on-One Headrail – You can control light independently on side-by-side
windows with this feature. It allows you to raise and lower each blind one
at a time.
-
Loop
Control – This will allow you to evenly raise, lower, and position blinds
because of the continuous loop that is secured by a cord guide. It
eliminates dangling lift cords, which is an added safety feature.
-
Ladder
Tape – This adds light control since the tape covers route holes preventing
sunlight from poking through when the blinds are closed.
Another feature of wood blinds is the
tilting horizontal slats that provide superior light control. The fabulous
thing about these blinds is that they insulate and reduce exterior noise.
If you can’t find the right
color,
you can take advantage of custom color matching where the manufacturer can
precisely match any paint, stain, or fabric of your choice with a sample you
supply.
Wood blinds are available in the
following slat sizes:
Durawood Blinds: Durawood
blinds are faux wood blinds that are ideal for bathrooms, the laundry room, or
any location where there’s humidity.
These blinds provide the beauty of real
wood while the rugged polymer construction resists fading, warping, and
cracking.
Durawood blinds are available in a 2”
slat size and you can custom order these blinds with a routeless ladder feature
that works without route holes preventing less light from showing through a
closed blind.
In addition, you can request to incorporate a decorative ladder
tape and decorative tape valance, which adds both light control and a splash of
style. The nice thing about ladder tapes is that it covers route holes, which
keeps sunlight from shining through when the blinds are closed.

One great feature is that all Trilogy
decorative blinds come standard with loop control. This allows you to easily and evenly
raise and lower the shade without the dangling cords for added child and pet
safety. In addition to this safety feature, the window looks uncluttered and
sleek.
Metal Blinds: Metal blinds
have come a long way from their once upon a time dull appearance.
These window
treatments are available in an array of colors – white, black, forest green,
merlot, pink, silver, and chocolate – to name a few.
Metal blinds are
custom crafted to fit your windows and you can upgrade them to accommodate two
blinds on one headrail as well as enhance privacy by ordering them with the
routing holes placed toward the back of the slat (in doing so, the holes allow
some light to come through while remaining concealed when the blinds are
completely closed).
