Italian Table Decor?
by Mary
My church is hosting a Worldfest Day and I have to decorate a table highlighting Italy. I don't know where to start. Can you help?
Giorgina's Answer: “Worldfest Day” sounds like a lot of fun! There are lots of creative things you can do to give your table an Italian theme.
Here are some ideas to help you get started:
*You may wish to consider using an International tablecloth that consists of green, white, and red colors to represent the colors that correspond to the Italian flag.
*Place an Italian flag on the table.
*Display an Italian cookbook on the table by placing it on an easel.
*Display a ceramic rooster that appears to be boldly strutting its stuff.
*Use accents like a pot holder and kitchen towel that has an Italian phrase on it, such as “Bella cucina”, along with various Italian themed kitchen tea towels.
*Make a sign that says, “Buon Appetito” and display it on the table, along with a faux spiral topiary next to it.
*Place a bottle of Italian olive oil, Italian balsamic vinegar, jar of Italian olives, slices of Italian cheese, slices of prosciutto, Focaccia bread inside a bread basket, biscotti, and a couple of bottles of Italian wine on the table.
*Do not forget to include a dipping plate, appetizer toothpicks, paper plates, and plastic wine glasses for guests to indulge.
*You may also wish to create a menu that features popular Italian dishes.
*Display several photographs of family for added effect.
*Consider displaying several plants, such as herbs (rosemary, mint, and basil) to add color to the table.
