Kitchen Flooring

Wonder if you can help! I recently had a new kitchen installed, which I love. I have chosen cream units, with very dark speckled granite worktops. It will be a kitchen/diner with an oak table and chairs. Originally, I wanted an oak floor, but now that the units/worktop was installed, I am not so sure an oak floor will go with very dark worktops. Any suggestions on alternative flooring?

Giorgina's Answer: It is not uncommon to have an oak floor with lighter cabinets and dark countertops. However, another option is a porcelain tile that is set diagonally. Setting it diagonally will give the illusion that the space is larger. You may wish to visit your local floor store to pick up different tile samples to see which color you like best.
