Oak Furniture?

My bedroom has a Oak headboard, Oak wash stand, and a Oak chair. I have a nice picture that I want to hang on the wall above the headboard, but it has a rather big and bold Gold sprayed frame around it. I want to spray the frame another color - thinking of a matte black.... to break the yellowness of the oak in the room - what do you suggest?
