Paint Color Question?

I have a small family room with a red brick fireplace and dark brown ceiling beams, which I want to keep. The couch is tan color. What colors would you paint the walls? My kitchen is off the family room and is a goldish yellow. I have a patio door that brings in sunlight, but in the summer, we put up an awning that shades the sun from the living room.

Giorgina's Answer: In this case, a light beige color will transition nicely to the paint color in your kitchen. A dark paint color is not advised since you have dark brown ceiling beams and it will make the room appear smaller.
