Painting Trim On a Brown Replacement Window?

How would it look to paint the stained trim white around a brown vinyl replacement window? My whole first floor has mahogany trim windows with brown replacements. Do I have to keep the trim stained or can I paint the trim white? Will it look weird?

Giorgina's Answer: Typically, the trim and windows match. This allows for a consistent look. However, I have seen the trim painted a different color. It’s a matter of preference. Perhaps you may wish to take some white sheeting and tape it over the trim to see how you like the color before deciding on whether or not to paint.
