You can decorate a wedding arch in a variety of ways, with the possibilities for décor being endless since you can also include garland, different floral arrangements (fresh or silk flowers), ribbons, bows, balloons, shimmery materials, organza fabric, and an assortment of decorative accessories to coordinate with your theme.

• Autumn/Fall
• Beach
• Christmas/Winter
• Floral
• Traditional
• Tropical

Autumn/Fall: With an autumn/fall theme, consider opting for dried flowers, grasses, apples, pumpkins, gourds, acorns, berries, twigs, and garland consisting of vibrant maple leaves. You can find faux garland that has a lot of the aforementioned items. The blending of these items will make your arch look magnificent.

As an extra touch, consider placing some potted mums and flowers that represent the season (such as, flowers that have shades of red, orange, brown, and yellow).

Beach: A beach theme is fun. In decorating your arch, you can incorporate an assortment of seashells (large and small in different colors), starfish, sea urchins, sand dollars, sequined fish, small seahorse figurines, coral, driftwood, ocean grass, and fish netting. To add more color and to soften the look, consider including yellow lupines. The seashells and other decorative items will add texture to the flowers. Use shimmery material to mimic the sparkling sand for that special effect.

Christmas/Winter: A Christmas/Winter theme presents an array of fabulous decoration choices. To add sparkle, consider using glitter tulle. You can embellish your arch with pine or fir branches, clear Christmas lights or icicle lights intertwined in tulle. You may also consider using pre-lit pine garland and hang Christmas bells, candy canes, pine cones, bows, ribbons, holly, tiny wrapped presents (in silver, gold, or multi-colored foil), Nutcracker toy soldier ornaments, and other Christmas ornaments on it. To accent the top of the arch, you can hang mistletoe or a snowflake.

A small Christmas skirt can be placed under the base of each side of the arch, along with small wrapped presents as a decorative touch.

Potted poinsettias or spiral topiaries that are pre-lit set in an urn can flank each side of the arch. Sprinkle faux snow on the ground for that wintery effect.

Traditional: This theme consists of decorating the arch using tulle, organza, and ivy garland. Intertwine clear Christmas lights for that special twinkle and accent the arch with pomander balls.

Consider flanking each side of the arch with a Grecian column pedestal, along with a vase containing a spectacular floral arrangement (on each pedestal).

Tropical: With a tropical theme, the emphasis is on the use of tropical plants, trees, and flowers. Consider using flowers, such as orchids, plumeria, hibiscus, bird of paradise, calla lilies, stargazer lilies, roses, and dahlias. For greenery, add palm tree fronds and cycads.

You can opt to buy a wedding arch or rent one. You may purchase one online. The cost depends on whether it is made of wood or metal. You can also opt to rent one at a party store. Renting a wedding arch is relatively inexpensive and if you don’t plan on using it again, then it’s more convenient to rent one since you can return it once the event is over and don’t have to worry about storing it.

To decorate the arch, consider purchasing fabrics, such as tulle or organza. These fabrics are available in a variety of colors and in a glitter style. You may drape the fabric down each side of the arch by intertwining it or creating subtle folds. If you go the folding route, pin the fabric folds to prevent the wind from undoing them.

Fortunately, with silk flowers and silk garland, you don’t have to concern yourself with them wilting. However, some prefer the use of fresh flowers. It all depends on your budget. Other ideas include the use of pomander balls, bows, ribbons, bells, and any other decorative accessories that reflect your theme.

You may wish to draw inspiration from the season by choosing colors representative of the season, such as seasonal flowers. Hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, peonies, calla lilies, and roses look spectacular if you successfully blend them together.

An inexpensive way to decorate a wedding arch is through the use of balloons. Balloons add a very festive element to the arch. Another way to add inexpensive decorative touches is by using feathers, feather flowers, and feather butterflies.

Wedding arch reception decorations should reflect your personality and style bringing every detail into reality. A stunning wedding arch will dazzle your guests and will help make your special day nothing less than perfect.
