by Giorgina Devereaux
Wedding chair decorations are sure to
create a dramatic look for your special day.
They're a nice finishing touch that will further add to the elegant atmosphere.
Wedding chair decorations consist of fabrics, textures, flowers, ribbons, bows,
and other creative decor. Your chairs are where your wedding guests will
spend the majority of their time, so do not neglect or underestimate what can be
a very powerful decorative accessory that will have our guests raving and
remembering the wedding for decades to come.
Transform your wedding chairs by
covering them to give the wedding an added boost of elegance. They'll also
greatly enhance all the photographs that will be taken at the wedding reception.
You may cover the wedding chairs with fabrics and textures, such as:
-
Check
-
Crushed Satin
-
Damask
-
Embroidery
-
Lace
-
Organza
-
Prints
-
Satin
After placing a chair cover, finish
the chair décor with a lovely sash or bow around the back of the chair.
You may combine two different colored
fabrics to add color and magnificence to your wedding.
For instance, consider
using a white chair cover and combining pink and burgundy colors. This two tone
combination looks lovely!
Wedding chair decorations consist of
the following ideas:
-
Combine a white chair covering with light green organza sashes and bows.
-
Combine a white chair covering with soft black organza sashes and attach a
folding paper fan in the back.
-
Consider a two tone wedding theme consisting of gold and red alternating
tables. Match the tablecloths and wedding chair sashes using a transparent
organza, along with solid satin strips over a white chair cover.
-
If
your wedding theme is a beach theme, combine a white chair covering with
yellow sashes and accent with pink flowers. This will provide a tropical
feel.
-
Coordinate satin pink tablecloths with pink and lilac tulle chair
decorations. Wrap the tulle around the chair in a lovely bow.
-
Use
colorful tulle or organza to create beautiful bows wrapped around a white
chair covering.
-
You
may also attach a water tube with a piece of greenery, such as tree fern and
a flower and then tie it with a bow against the chair. It looks gorgeous.
To save on costs, consider decorating every second or third chair with a
flower or you may run the flowers down the outside chairs of the center
aisle for an outside wedding ceremony.
-
You
may also mix greenery, such as ivy, tree fern, etc., in with tulle bows
instead of flowers. This will help keep costs down while adding interest to
the chairs.
-
To
decorate the back of chairs with tulle, start from the bottom of the legs
and criss cross the tulle until you reach the top of the chair. You can
secure the tulle by wrapping it around the top bar of the center and then
make a knot in the back. Touch it off with a bow or flowers.
-
Using a wide satin ribbon, make a large bow with five or six loops. Allow
the ends of the bows to almost touch the floor and then cut the tails so
that they are at varying lengths. Pin a flower to the head of the bow tails
and secure it to the outside edge of the chair.
These are just some
creative ideas to help make your special day even more extravagant. Every
little detail counts and you can even go the extra mile by adding colorful beads
to your wedding chair decorations. It will leave a lasting impression for
years to come.
